Will check with 8.0.2 for this reported issue

@mark_barnes I am glad to know that what I thought as a limitation (not using a bug tracking system with tasks) is actually being seen as a feature.
I will check what has changed in the NetBeans 8.0.2 for the overwriting of the config file.

Problem when Upgrading from NB 7.4 to NB 8.0.2

I cannot seem to get my old NBTaskFocus tasks (from NB 7.4) to get recognized in in NB 8.0.2.

I tried copying C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\NetBeans\7.4\config\nbtaskfocus to C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\NetBeans\8.0.2\config\nbtaskfocus and start NB.

This worked with past upgrades.

But now, when I start NB, C:\Users\mark\AppData\Roaming\NetBeans\8.0.2\config\nbtaskfocus gets overwritten with an empty file.

Works without a Bug Tracking System

I've been using this plugin for years. It has been suggested several times that I switch to the "new", built-in Mylyn look-alike.

The problem is, as far as I can see, this built-in module requires the use of a bug tracking system. Bugtraq or Jira? My company doesn't allow me to use these.

So I stick with NBTaskFocus. Problem is, it doesn't seem anyone is actively working on this plugin anymore. It needs bug fixes and enhancements. It loses track of the "current" task from time to time, after restarting. It combines the files from more than one task (all tasks?) If you switch from one task to the next, one by one, eventually the tasks seem to get sorted out.

BIG PROBLEM: When you upgrade NB, the new version doesn't have any of your NBTaskFocus tasks!!! There needs to be a way to keep your tasks!!!

Enhancement Request

Nice! I like it because it's simple and to the point.

The only thing I would add, would be to have, if possible, would be when I activate a task that it open the associated project if that project wasn't already open. And when I deactivate a task, if the project was opened via the task, that the project also be closed. I switch between numerous projects quite a lot and rather than have them all open all the time, which slows down searches, I usually only keep open the project(s) I'm actively working.

But again, very nice. Thanks!

Enhancement request

@wellic Thanks for the comment, will you be so kind to add this as an enhancement request in the ISSUES section of GITHUB site? (Link is available in the information of this plugin on left)

I will check how I can add this feature to the task context.

Improve if possible

I am using this plugin for saving different group files for each task.
It is very convenient for large projects.

I would like to, if possible, so you add the ability to save individual sets cursor positions in editor, brackpoints and bookmarks for each task.
Then it would be a cool plugin management workspaces of the Netbeans.

Thanks for your work.

Settings for Task Focus

@wellic currently the plugin does not provide any settings which can be configured.

I am planning to add some settings which are suggested on the issues page of the code site. The settings page is a placeholder for these upcoming settings.
