StepDownRulePlugin - plugin detail

Clean Code Method Sorter Right-click on your source file and choose "Step-Down Rule" or click on Source->Step-Down Rule. Your methods will be sorted as proposed by Clean Code. I highly recommend the book "Clean Code: A Handbook of Agile Software Craftsmanship" from Robert C. Martin where I got the idea for this plugin.

Introduction

This plugin adds a feature to organize the methods of a class, similar to the configuration specified by Editor->Formatting->Java->Code Generation, using the Step-down Rule. The Clean Code Method Sorter, also knows as Step-Down Rule, conceived by Robert C. Martin proposes to improve the readability of your source code following the Newspaper Metaphor: "A class should be readable like a newspaper, starting with the most important methods, followed by methods which are invoked later in the execution flow."

Re: Unable to run downloaded Plugins

Just go to "Tools -> Plugins -> Downloaded", click "Add Plugins..." to select the plugin file (.nbm) and finally click "Install". Confirm you really want install it.

To execute this specific plugin you have to open any java source, and go to menu "Source -> Step-Down Rule" to order your methodes.
